Being original and of the moment will make you appear more real to your followers.
People are 10xs more likely to read something if they believe a real person wrote it.
We're real. We wrote this. And if you apply this approach to your social captions and responses to audiences and customers, you'll see a considerable difference in sentiment.
Keeping in line with appearing authentic means avoiding the temptation to do a quick search for overly stocky stock business photos.
So quite simply, don’t use a stocky business image within your posts.
You absolutely need an image but people tend to ignore or discount contrived business stuff in favour of something that is either 'real' or is surprising and funny.
Try a photo of your cat for your next post and watch the magic happen.
The key is to avoid the manufactured feel of a stock photo.
Every social community is different.
Take the time to learn how to use each social media platform, and understand which platforms you should be on versus ones that won't serve your business.
If teenagers are capable of learning this stuff, you can too, so there's no excuse for you to not understand how to leverage hashtags, or that you cannot start a tweet with @whoever and have the whole world see it.
If you need a brush up, ask your local tween to teach you Snapchat. I’m sure they will oblige.
Make sure all relevant business information is filled out on all of your social accounts.
You want people to be able to check in with you, tweet at you, and know how to get to you.
It’s a missed opportunity if you leave the details blank.
Make sure all your content, posts, opinions, responses are providing value to your followers.
People follow brands for deals, exclusives, and insider information.
Make sure you are treating your followers right by keeping them in the know!
