How much does a corporate video cost?

A simple guide to understanding corporate video pricing.

You want to know, “How much?”

Video doesn’t have to be expensive.  Fact is, you can be every bit as effective with a small-budget video as you can be ineffective and wasteful with a national campaign-sized budget.

Video production is scalable, depending on the production elements you choose to include. By working with you to analyze your business needs, we can help you determine where your energy should be spent and prioritize those elements that make sense for your goals and your budget.

When looking for a price, it’s important to keep in mind there are well over 30 different production elements that affect a budget. The easiest and most direct approach is to give us a call; we’d love to work through the details with you. If however you’re not ready, below are a few things that may help you with your research.

Comparing apples to apples.

Like many creative industries, it’s almost impossible to take two quotes from two suppliers and compare them by line item because each company will take a different approach to a project.

Instead, we recommend speaking with the shortlisted firms about how and why their proposed approach will best serve your business goals.  Review the proposals for must haves vs nice to haves. Interview references specifically for their satisfaction and experience, not on the production quality alone. Focus your conversations on whether the proposed plans will actually impact your business in a positive way.

It's not what you spend, but how you spend it.

We all know the line, “you get what you pay for.”  But sometimes it goes deeper than that.

Having over 30 production variables to consider when putting a production plan together, as video producers we have the ability to shift production elements and budgets around to ensure the project meets your business goals - regardless of the top level number you’re looking to work within.

Allocating budget to the right production element through smart, strategic decisions will leave you with a corporate video that looks a lot more expensive than it really was.

Typical pricing for corporate video.

Our projects tend to sit in the $6,200 to $350,000 range. That’s a big range and obviously a lower budget gets you a different video than a higher budget.

Keep in mind your first task is to accomplish your goal; second to that is how the video looks.

If the goals can be accomplished with a simpler approach and a lower budget, then it’s your choice to spend more if you want to - you’re in control of that.

Batch producing project elements by grouping them together drastically cuts costs and saves you budget.

For the most part, budgets are based on the resources (read people, hours, and hard costs) needed to deliver a project. Grouping similar projects together will bring down budgets drastically because of scalability. For the most part, economies of scale find savings through each step of the production process.

Decide what's best for you: a videographer or a full-service video agency?

Be sure you understand your expectations. Do you want to drive the project and only need technical help to have it produced? Are you looking for a full service firm who will provide you a structured process and experience?  Having a clear sense of what you want upfront will help make the planning and sourcing of the right video production company an easier process for you.
